Interactive areas of project

Once a user enters VedaMatics for the first time, he/she is faced with a simple Math problem and asked how long it might take to solve it. Based on what they answer, the path takes them either to the tutorials to show how Vedic techniques can make solving Math much easier, or if the user if confident about their Math skills then the set of questions will lead the user to the Quiz section.

Once in the main site a user has the choice to view a short video for "About VedaMatics" in the about section and also view the History gallery.

The sutras (formulae / set of definitions) are a few sentences of text explaining the method for solving and users can click through each sutra to read and learn.

The tutorials section has beginner tutorials with a one-question quiz integrated between tutorials to improve the learning curve of the user. There are a total of 10 tutorials which are animated in Flash, to create a much simpler understanding instead of just reading how a Math problem is solved in a static manner. There is a small progress bar that shows a user how many tutorials they have completed.

The Quiz has a timed and a relaxed mode. The timed is where a user has to solve as many Math problems as they can within 1 minute and the relaxed mode is where a user has to solve a given number of problems at their own pace. The score is given after the quiz with a graph of how the user has scored over the past few months (highest score of each week) This score can then be shared on social networks or emailed.

There is no sign up or sign in since I never intend to make this application a paid one. Instead I am using local shared objects to remember a user's last viewed tutorial and bring up that tutorial when they revisit the site.
